Straight answers, before you commit to anything
The questions families ask us most — about fees, funding, eligibility and how our care works. If your question is not here, Rosie can help 24/7, or call us on 1300 845 766.
Getting started
How quickly can care start?
Timeframes depend on the type of service and your funding. Private services can often begin quickly once we have completed your assessment and care plan. Government-funded services (Support at Home or NDIS) depend on your assessment and funding approval, which we can guide you through. We will always give you an honest expected timeframe in your first conversation — call 1300 845 766 or use the enquiry form to start.
Do I need a government assessment before contacting you?
No — most families contact us first. We explain the options, help you understand what funding you may be eligible for and guide you through the My Aged Care or NDIS application process. The government assessment is free, and while we can support you through it, eligibility and funding decisions are made by the government assessor, not by us.
How do I get Support at Home funding?
You apply through My Aged Care (online or on 1800 200 422). An assessor visits you, prepares a support plan and a delegate decides your eligibility and classification, which sets your quarterly budget. Our free guides explain each step, our online budget calculator shows what your classification is worth and our team can help you prepare — including our most practical advice: describe a difficult day, not your best day.
Can you help me apply?
Yes. We help you gather the right documents, prepare for the assessment and understand your outcome letter. Our client information pack walks through the ways to apply and what happens next. The decision itself always rests with the government assessor.
Fees and funding
What does home care cost?
Our standard weekday rate for personal care and support at home is $97 per hour (effective 1 November 2025), with loadings for evenings, weekends and public holidays. The full price list is on our Funding & Pricing page. Fees are reviewed periodically, and updated prices take effect from 1 October 2026 — our team can confirm the exact rates that will apply to you.
What does it cost to live at your Ashburton residence?
Rosewood Gardens in Ashburton is a privately operated supported residential service. The current minimum private rate is $225 per day, which covers accommodation, meals, standard personal care, medication assistance, daily living support and access to onsite nursing and care staff around the clock. Rates are updated from 1 October 2026. Every person's funding and care needs are different, so our Care Manager will always confirm exact costs for your situation before you commit to anything.
Can government funding help pay for my care?
Yes. Support at Home budgets, NDIS plans and TAC arrangements can fund eligible care and support services — at home, in the community and for care delivered at our residence. At the residence, accommodation and meals are paid privately, while eligible care can be covered by your funding. We explain exactly how the two parts work together for your situation.
Is Rosewood Gardens registered?
Yes — we are a registered NDIS provider (Registration No. 4-433J-1108) and a registered Support at Home provider, and we also support TAC clients. Rosewood Gardens is operated by BKV Aged Care Pty Ltd (ABN 87 635 762 612), and our services are delivered in line with the Aged Care Quality Standards and the NDIS Practice Standards.
Our care
Which areas do you service?
Home and community services across Melbourne and Sydney, with our office in Cheltenham NSW and our supported residence at 436 Warrigal Road, Ashburton VIC. If you are unsure whether we reach your suburb, ask Rosie on this page or call us — we will tell you straight away.
Will I have the same carers each visit?
We work hard to keep your care team small and consistent, so familiar faces arrive at your door wherever possible. You will also have a named Care Partner as your first contact and a Care Manager who oversees your plan and is directly reachable.
Do you speak my language?
Our team is proudly multicultural, and Rosie, our virtual care assistant, helps in writing 24/7 in English, Tamil, Hindi, Sinhala, Arabic and Filipino. For any language, free telephone interpreters are available through TIS National on 131 450 — tell us your preferred language when you call.
Is the Ashburton residence a nursing home?
It is a privately operated supported residential service — a home with care staff onsite around the clock and registered nursing support. It is not a Commonwealth-funded residential aged care home, so there are no RAD or DAP accommodation deposits and no My Aged Care residential placement process. Residents pay for accommodation and meals privately, and eligible care can be funded through Support at Home, the NDIS, TAC or privately.
Can you support complex or high-intensity needs?
Yes. We provide high-intensity and complex supports, including 1:1 and 2:1 care, with registered nursing oversight. Talk to our NDIS Care Manager about your specific requirements and we will be honest about how we can help.
Practical matters
How do I give feedback or make a complaint?
We genuinely want to hear it — good or hard. Use our Feedback page (you can choose to remain anonymous), call 1300 845 766 or email info@rosewoodgardens.com.au. You can also contact the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission or the NDIS Commission at any time, and the Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) offers free independent advocacy.
What happens after I enquire?
A real person from our care team contacts you — usually the same or next business day — to listen, answer questions and arrange a free consultation if you would like one. There is no obligation and no pressure at any point.
What about emergencies?
In any emergency always call 000. Rosie and our enquiry channels are for information and service matters, not urgent medical help. After hours, urgent calls to 1300 845 766 reach our on-call team.
